ACTA2 – Associated Genetic Aortic Disease: Overview and Current Understanding from Research

Dr. Dianna Milewicz, Medical Geneticist, UTHealth Houston, presented an overview of ACTA2-associated genetic aortic disease and what has been learned from her research on ACTA2.

Dr. Milewicz is the Executive Chair of the Montalcino Aortic Consortium (MAC Aorta), leading the largest international genetic Aortopathy research registry, funded by GADA. Many genes involved in genetic aortic diseases are being studied using the MAC registry, including ACTA2.
